OUR STORY
Since 1946, we have been Rock Church and will continue to be the same strong foundation rooted in Christ that so many have leaned on for faith, family, and community through the trials of life.
FOUNDATIONS.
Rock Church has truly been a rock in the region to those that have called it home, both past and present. We trace our origins as far back as 1930 to a small Swedish speaking congregation called the Swedish Philadelphia Church.
STRENGTH.
That congregation carried its members through The Great Depression years until the outbreak of the Second World War in 1942. The congregation evolved, changing from Swedish speaking to English speaking and changing their name to South Park Gospel Tabernacle.
COMMUNITY.
Since 1946, we have been Rock Church and will continue to be the same strong foundation rooted in Christ that so many have leaned on for faith, family, and community through the trials of life.
FILLING THE GAPS.
Our mission now is to fill the gaps in our city. We can't say that we love our community and not have a presence in it. This mission led us to acquire the property that is home to our Reed Campus in 2023. We believe this is the first of many as we continue to share the hope we have in Jesus!
ROCK CHURCH UNITED
It’s fitting that our church is named Rock Church, because Rock has been established in the Rockford Area through some of the most trying times in our city’s history. We remain United across our campuses in our pursuit of cultivating a spirit led community that is motivated to grow and mobilized to serve.

On behalf of Rock Church, I’d like to welcome you. Our church has a long history in the Rockford area. Our foundation is rooted in Jesus. Everything we do and are is because of Him. Through that lens, you can anticipate genuine worship and practical messages, that lead to powerful encounters with God.
